Welcome to Joy Above Us. I’m Bridgette, a botanical designer, artist, and New Zealand creative at heart. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland, and I’ve spent over twenty years blending design, marketing, and brand storytelling into the work I create today. My approach is rooted in artistry, intuition, and a deep love for transforming spaces into something people can truly feel.
Nature has always been where my creativity begins. Whether I’m trail running at dawn, paddle boarding at sunset, or out exploring with my two amazing kids, the outdoors continually shapes how I see the world. They keep me grounded, inspired, and full of joy — a reminder of the beauty in slowing down and noticing the small things.
Joy Above Us has evolved into a place where large-scale botanical installations, refined details, and immersive experiences come together. I specialize in creating site-specific designs for weddings, corporate gatherings, seasonal environments, and moments where a space needs to feel elevated, meaningful, and a little bit magical. My work is intentionally crafted - a blend of real botanicals, sculptural elements, and handmade pieces - all designed to tell a story and invite people in.
Joy isn’t just the name of my work; it’s the way I move through the world. I care deeply about creating experiences that make people pause, breathe, and feel something. Collaboration is at the center of everything I do, and I love working alongside clients to bring their vision to life in ways that feel artful, thoughtful, and deeply personal.

GIVING BACK
At Joy Above Us, giving back to our community is close to our hearts. Every Monday, we volunteer at Cherry Hills Community Church, where we transform donated flowers from local supermarkets and vendors into beautiful bouquets for guests of the Manna Food Bank. We’re also excited to offer a sustainability initiative: if you choose to donate your event flowers to this cause, we’ll ensure they’re repurposed and reused for our community outreach. It’s a wonderful way to stay connected, support our local neighborhood, and promote sustainability. Interested in joining our team of volunteers or donating your event flowers?
